LWS Gives Back to the Kids in Poughkeepsie

Princesses get ready to greet the guests at Hudson Valley KidVenture.
Lower West Side Household Services Corporation (LWS Homecare) was in Poughkeepsie, NY for the first annual Hudson Valley KidVenture at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center on May 20th and 21st, 2017. The event was put on by the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce in order to connect families with children in the Hudson Valley region with services and activities that local companies have to offer. LWS Homecare entertained attendees with a bubble machine and giant bubble wands. We had a blast making humongous bubbles with the children and popping them with our new friends.

The attendees learn about the IBM supercomputer, Watson.
This wonderful event also gave LWS the opportunity to educate the community about the essential services we provide for children with disabilities and their caregivers. Often families that have a child with elevated needs will seek services from LWS Homecare to help make the daily demands of care easier for themselves and their families. LWS has licensed, trained and experienced care professionals that assist with the care of a child with special needs and provide respite care, a much needed break of a few hours for a primary caregiver. Speech, occupational and physical therapy as well as crisis intervention, behavioral management and a number of other supportive services can also be provided in the comfort of the family’s home.

At the event, LWS Homecare also had the chance to talk to people about becoming part of our team. LWS Homecare is hiring Home Health Aides, Personal Care Aides, Nurses, Therapists and more throughout NYC and Dutchess, Rockland, Orange and Westchester counties. These opportunities offer flexible scheduling and competitive pay that appeals to many parents looking for part-time or full-time work. Take a look at our Careers page and submit your information to apply.

LWS had a wonderful time entertaining and providing health information to the event attendees. We look forward to partnering with the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce and other Chamber members on future events!
