LWS Homecare and the Dennelisse LHCSA were out in Brooklyn on Saturday, September 16th 2017 for the Chinese Promise Baptist Church Health Fair in Sunset Park. Hundreds of community members and dozens of health care providers and local organizations came together for the event. “Not every person in need of help, services or health care will reach out and advocate for themselves. It’s important to be present in the community and reach people where they are... I think it’s central to our mission to provide home and community based services to integrate with diverse populations in locations throughout the city” said Nestor Sanchez, Director of Business Development at the Dennelisse LHCSA.
The room was packed for the duration of the event and attendees bustled around from table to table to learn about what services are available from the providers that are active in their neighborhood. The Chinese Promise Baptist Church Choir sang hymns for the crowd gathered at the health fair. A hush fell over the event as everyone’s attention turned to the beautiful music coming from the choir. Congresswoman Nydia M. Velázquez was also present to make remarks on bills before congress that could potentially affect the health of the constituents in her district. Velázquez represents New York’s 7th District covering parts of Brooklyn, Lower Manhattan and Queens.
LWS Homecare and the Dennelisse LHCSA would like to thank our partner, Senior Whole Health, for helping us to take part in the health fair. It’s through the cooperation of insurers, providers and neighborhood organizers that the residents of New York City will grow healthier and happier. LWS Homecare and the Dennelisse LHCSA are proud to work together with these agents of positive change for a better future in the communities we serve.
